3 young entrepreneurs started their companies and developed assistive platforms, portable devices for the visually impaired and the elderly, and digital mental healthcare solutions using artificial intelligence. Florence Chan received her B.S. degree in Mechatronic Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in 2008, her M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2011 and her Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from City University of Hong Kong in 2022. In 2007, she was a Visiting Scholar with Heriot Watt University, Scotland. From 2008 to 2013, she was an Associate Consultant with Hong Kong Productivity Council, Hong Kong. From 2013 to 2014, she was an Application Engineer with Lanco Asia Limited, Hong Kong. In 2020, Dr Chan cofound AI Guided Limited to provide a seamless outdoor navigation for the visually impaired using AI technology with the support of the Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) from Innovation and Technology Fund of Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) and the Incubation programme of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP).
